With honey sweetness in abundance Hine Rare VSOP is a refined blend of eaux de vie which balances selections from both the Grande and Petite Champaign regions. The youngest eau de via in the blend is six years old, though they can be up to twelve and this maturation ensures the smooth, deep flavour connoisseurs lust after. Floral hints of jasmine support the warm honey and a final note of vanilla provides a rounded ending.
An oaky, spicy bourbon, Horse With No Name is made with a combination of yellow dent Texas corn, soft red winter wheat and six-row distiller’s malt, and then blended with habanero chilli distillate to give it a fruity note.
Howler Head brings together Kentucky bourbon and natural banana flavour to create a fab tipple that'll be excellent sipped neat or over ice. All those familiar bourbon flavours – caramel, honey, baking spices, and the like – pair wonderfully with the estery deliciousness of banana, so no surprises there. Howler Head will also do well in fruit-forward twists on classic cocktails, like the Old Fashioned or the Manhattan...
Nose: Huge helpings of vanilla and banana fritter, followed by a whiff of cinnamon, with a touch of cask char developing.
Palate: Ripe banana esters with a hint of banana pancake too, backed up by brown sugar, peppercorn, and toffee.
Finish: Banana chips with a drizzle of honey, and a final hint of oak spiciness.
Five days steeping before distillation in a copper pot still create the unique and unusually flavoured Hoxton Gin. Flavoured with sweet coconut, refreshing grapefruit, classic juniper, iris, tarragon and hits of ginger, Hoxton Gin is different to your average gin. Unlike most other gins juniper is not the leading flavour and it ends on woody eucalyptus notes, a satisfying alternative to traditional gins. Enjoy a special experience with Hoxton gin, however you choose to drink it.
Inspired by the attitude and style associated with Hoxton, East London, this gin was produced by London-based nightlife entrepreneur and mixologist Gerry Calabrese in a local micro-distillery. Only ethically sourced botanicals, such as bergamot, chamomile, elderflower, grapefruit, gunpowder tea, hibiscus sugar, juniper, liquorice, orris and rose hip were used for the Hoxton's Pink's recipe.
Part of the new core range of whiskies launched by Isle of Jura in early 2018, this 10 year old expression takes the place of Jura Origin. It's initially aged in American white oak bourbon barrels before enjoying a finishing period in Oloroso sherry butts and bottled at 40% ABV. It has the subtle smoke characteristic of Jura's excellent Island single malts, with robust vanilla and an intense kick of sherried sweetness underneath.
J&B Rare is Europe’s most famous Scotch whisky, one of the most popular ones on the market. Blending together 42 different whiskies the flavour is a wonderfully nutty combination of sweetness and spice. Berry fruits, sweetshop fruit salad and caramel blend together with an oak-spiced warmth bringing each sip to a rounded finish. There’s a good reason this whisky is so popular, it’s smoothness on the palate and wonderful warmth.
ottled in Bond whiskeys have to be aged for a minimum of 4 years, and bottled at a 100 proof (50% abv).
Jack Daniel's bottled in bond is 80% corn, 12% Rye, and 8% barley. Fermented using their own house yeast, and aged in their own barrels, coopered in house to their specifications.
Lots of caramel notes, rich oak and spice.
With Jack Daniel’s Honey you’ll be praising the bees for the quality of their production, as well as the good folk at Jack Daniel too. A truly stunning whisky liqueur which takes the essence of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and adds in the sweet nectar of the bees, making a wonderful concoction for sipping over ice or adding into coffee. Thick and creamy and awash with flavour, fans of Jack Daniel will not want to miss this real treat.
Each barrel is hand selected to ensure the flavour is absolutely perfect before bottling. The nose is rich with toasted oak notes as well as warm corn and cereal-inspired sweetness. There’s a note of smoke in there which is brought out strongly in the flavour and teams beautifully with nut oils and a spicy aniseed depth. A hint of citrus comes through in the end note and keeps you going back for another taste.
Jack Daniel's Triple Mash is a combination of 20% Jack Daniel's World Famous Maple Charcoal Mellowed Tennessee Whiskey, 60% Jack Daniel's Rye Whiskey and 20% Jack Daniel's American Malt Whiskey (they make malt whiskey too!).
A dram with honey, malty notes and balanced soft oak notes, Jack Daniel's shows some of the intriguing whiskeys they make in their renowned distillery.
They make all their barrels fully in house to be contructed and toasted to their specifications, all their whiskey is aged in Lynchburg Tennessee, and the yeast in the fermentation process is cultivated from their first post prohibition yeast, all the way back in 1938. Great to find out that one of the most well known drinks in the world is made in a geeky way, similar to what would be considered 'craft' (scaled up quite a bit).

A 20cl bottle of Jade's VS1898 Absinthe, a 'Verte Suisse' styled after the top quality spirit of the late 19th century. This has been reverse engineered from a bottle made at the C.F. Berger distillery before it closed in 1910.
An exceptionally crafted vintage-style absinthe created as a tribute to one of the world’s most famous pre-ban absinthes, Pernod Fils. Jade 1901 has a balanced flavour with a strong herbal aroma and an aftertaste rich in wormwood and aniseed. It has a distinct pale golden colour with a greenish tinge and fresh, woody aromas with notes of sage, tarragon and lime blossom. The alcohol content combined with the strength of wormwood provide the characteristic palate-numbing sensation absinthe is known for.
By 1897, the house of Edouard Pernod boasted a reputation for crafting some of the best absinthe the world has ever known. At the time of the ban (in 1915 in France), Edouard Pernod had become the 3rd largest absinthe distiller in France. The Edouard Pernod label was considered by many absinthe connoisseurs to be one of the finest marques, certainly on par with the famed Pernod Fils, A. Junod and Fritz Duval
Jade Terminus is an homage to one of the best absinthes of the Belle Epoque: Cusenier Oxygenée. The Cusenier distillery created this absinthe in reponse to claims that absinthe was dangerous, and claimed that their proprietary oxygenation process left the absinthe free of any potentially deleterious properties. We now know that absinthe is only as harmful as any other alcoholic drink, however this unique oxygenation process lent a unique character to the absinthe, so to make Jade Terminus Oxygenee Ted Breaux decided to use a hot oxygenation process closely mirroring the original technique.
This handcrafted absinthe is distilled by T.A. Breaux, to traditional french methods, aged fully for several years. Absinthe alembics from the 19th century have been used for its distillation in the Historic Combier distillery. This absinthe is made of a eau-de-vie base , unusual Alpine varieties of wormwood, and other European herbs. No sugar or artificial colours are in the recipe. This absinthe has rested for an average of 3 years before bottling.
Consider the Jaffa cake. A timeless treat. Now, if something is delicious, chances are someone will make a gin with it, and that’s exactly what has happened here. Jaffa Cake Gin is distilled with oranges, fresh orange peel, cocoa powder and Jaffa cakes. Actual Jaffa cakes. As in “Right, we could eat these yummy Jaffa cakes, or we could put the Jaffa cakes in this vacuum still and make Jaffa Cake Gin.” It’s that kind of situation. The result is just like you’d expect - full-on Jaffa cake tastiness built around a distinctive base of crisp juniper. The label claims it’ll make the best Negroni mankind has ever seen, but we’ll let you be the judge of that one - though you will get top marks if you stick a Jaffa cake on your glass like a citrus wheel garnish. m the California lettering depicted in the middle.
County Cork’s finest creation, Jameson whisky has been enjoyed in Ireland and beyond for over two centuries. Known around the world for its palatable smoothness and velvety touch on the palate, Jameson’s flavour is also worthy of note, sweet and aromatic and thick with marmalade and citrus notes. The sharper flavours are balanced against a touch of sweet vanilla cream, delivering that classic Jameson’s flavour the world knows and loves.
The second release in Jameson Caskmates range, finished this time in casks that once held zesty IPA. The combination adds further layers of hop fruitiness to the whiskies already fruity character as well as a touch of citrus, floral notes and some balancing bitterness. Perfect for a boilermaker – sip of IPA, sip of Jameson Caskmates, repeat.
Jameson Caskmates is an intriguing release. Having sent some of their casks to the local craft stout brewers at Franciscan Well, the casks were returned to Midleton where they were subsequently used to give a stout finish to Jameson!
We tasted it before it was available in the UK when we visited Cork just before St. Patrick's Day 2015, and we know that some of the fine folk at Irish Distillers were worried that it may be seen as a bit of a gimmick. Perhaps to an extent it is, but more importantly, it works - a worthwhile experiment that's produced a unique and interesting Irish whiskey.
A triple distilled single pot still Irish whiskey
Classic flavour with added notes of cocoa, coffee and butterscotch
Classic pure pot still - silky, full bodied with nuts, citrus fruits
Jameson - Select Reserve - Black Barrel. Great whiskeys don't just happen by chance. Years of experience and consummate skill go into the precise selection of whiskeys used in Jameson Select Reserve. The Jameson Masters carefully select a high proportion of single Irish pot still whiskey and a rare small batch grain whiskey, all matured in flame-charred bourbon barrels and toasted sherry casks. The trademark Jameson notes of toasted wood and spice develop while the rich pot still whiskey matures in the dark, aromatic warehouses of our single distillery. The rare, sweet grain whiskey - not found in any other Jameson Whiskey - is triple distilled in small batch quantities on just one occasion each year. The result is an extremely rich and luxurious taste experience, combining spice and exotic fruits. We think you will agree it is a selection well made. Nose: Rich and full, developing into the succulent sweetness of exotic fruits like nectarines, apricot and papaya. Taste: A burst of flavours combine to produce a creamy, luscious taste experience. The special fruity sweetness from the grain remains consistent, while the waves of vanilla, toasted wood and spices roll through from the pot still whiskey and flame charred barrels. Finish: An incredibly long finish with fruit and wood spices lingering in perfect proportion, delivering an extremely rich and luxurious taste experience.

The name ‘Jindea’ is a portmanteau of ‘Juniper’ and the French words for India and tea, which provides a fairly accurate picture of the brand, as it is made in an alembic still in France, with juniper and first-flush Darjeeling tea as its main botanicals.
Jindea’s other botanicals are lemon, grapefruit, coriander, ginger, fennel, cardamom, cinnamon, and angelica. Maceration lasts between three and five days, followed by pot still distillation.
