San Cosme Mezcal is a stylish example of a traditional mezcal which has an extremely rich flavour, due to its non-chill filtration process. Its aroma lets you deep and earthy with a dry woody character and sweet roast agave notes. On first sip you’ll enjoy a viscous mouth feel, the flavours coating it entirely and a burst of fruity freshness followed by a creamy caramel-like depth. A hint of spice supports those warm agave notes and there is a final smoky note which lingers pleasantly.

A rich, floral Cognac from Sazerac de Forge et Fils, Finest Original is inspired by the very first Cognacs made by Bernard Sazerac de Forge. Seven Tails Brandy The inception of Seven Tails in unique, Cognac, Armagnac and the finest French brandies aged 3-30 years are aged in oak barrels then finished in port wood casks to achieve a rich depth of flavour encompassing tasting notes of praline, dried fig and toasted vanilla.

The creation of master blender Alex Thomas, The Sexton Single Malt Irish whiskey is made from 100% Irish malted barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills. After, the liquid is aged in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks imparting a rich and fruity character. It comes in a rather eye-catching hexagonal bottle, too.

While Canadian whisky is often a showcase of different grains, Signal Hill focuses instead on casks. The distillery takes corn and malt spirit and ages them in three types of cask – ex-bourbon, ex-Canadian whisky and new oak. The three casks bring out different aspects of the whisky's character – vanilla and toffee notes, sweet grain and oaky spice respectively – creating a flavoursome and well-balanced whisky.

24 botanicals are carefully chosen for their uniquity , that work together in unison to afford a romantic , complex flavour. Fresh floral and clarifying citrus notes are grounded by earthy and spicy cassia bark and cubeb , and a smooth finish is achieved with the help of local honey.

A grand rum from the Philippines, produced by Tanduay. This expression spends five years maturing in bourbon barrels, developing a flavour profile rich in creamy vanilla and fruit. It's filtered before being bottled, removing some of its hue (though not its flavour, luckily!). Great for cocktails and mixed drinks.

A Bolivian grape brandy produced in collaboration with film maker Stephen Soderbergh, as he travels the world looking for examples of "exceptional human endeavour". Singani is distilled from Muscat of Alexandria grapes in the high valleys of Bolivia and is the country's national drink, but until now has not made it far from home. Singani 63 is a clean and crisp spirit, with a touch of aromatic grape.

An American rye whiskey coming from a partnership between Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Dr Bill Lumsden, paying tribute to the icon's great-grandfather Davis Hogue and his personal history of distilling in Texas. With a mash bill of 51% rye and 49% malted barley, SirDavis American whisky is finished, blended and bottled in Texas.

Siren's Call Caribbean Spiced Rum is named in honour of those who were lured into the rocky shallows by the call of the singing creatures, who may or may not have looked just like the one on the front of the label. It takes Caribbean rum and blends it with ginger and other tropical spices from the islands.

Full bodied and packed with deep brown sugar notes, Skipper is a molasses-based rum which brings together seven different individual rums. Its deep mahogany hues hides a brawny, bittersweet flavour which is burnt on the palate and features crème brulee notes. Raisins, vanilla and hot clove spice come through strongly and it has a real strength of character which helps it stand out and gives it all the characteristics of a quality navy-style rum.

Much-loved heavy metal band Slipknot has teamed up with Cedar Ridge Distillery to created Slipknot No.9 Whiskey! Blended by Slipknot's very own Shawn "Clown" Crahan (he can be seen sporting a clown mask when performing, hence the name), the whiskey features Iowa corn as well as a helping of rye, which brings a kick of spice to the fore. Both Slipknot and Cedar Ridge hail from Iowa, and judging by the whiskey they've made together, they seem like a fantastic fit. With that in mind, stick on Slipknot's Iowa album, pour yourself a glass of this and enjoy!

The finish is cracked black pepper on hot toast with a faint hazlenut taste. Impressive stuff for the Smirnoff crew.

One of the rare 100% pot still rums out there, Smith & Cross is a Jamaican favourite which allows tropical fruity flavours to define its character. St Aubin Rhum Agricole comes from Mauritius, and is made by distilling fresh sugar cane juice in the French method. St Aubin itself has been in the business of sugar production since 1819, and started to distil it quite recently. This particular spirit is unaged and clean, crisp and tangy.
