With Legent, we finally get to see the results of the merging of Beam and Suntory in liquid form. This is a fun east meets the west bottle. Legent is a result of years of collaboration between Fred Noe, Jim Beam Master Distiller, and Shinji Fukuyo, Suntory Chief Blender. It’s an effort of uniting a master blender and a distiller from two different worlds.

Dodo "Coconut" rum is crafted from Mauritian molasses and column distiled.

A 2010-vintage Venezuelan rum from Plantation that was first matured for eight years in ex-bourbon barrels in Destiloeria Sofa's cellars. The barrels then made the sea voyage to Javrezac, in France's Charente region, where the rum spent a further four years in Ferrand French oak casks. Aromas of nutmeg, honey, vanilla, mandarin, coconut, Brazil nuts, coffee and sweet flowers fill the nose, complemented by notes of spicy oak, peanuts, tobacco, almond, black pepper, creme brulee, pineapple, dried banana and hazelnut throughout the palate and lingering in the finish.

Black Tears is produced using molasses sourced from four sugar mills in the Ciego de Avila province of the country. Coffee and cacao is used to create the spice flavour in the rum, which is produced by Grupo Azucarero (AzCuba Sugar Group).
