The King’s Ginger liqueur is a medium-strength aromatic drink which is produced through the careful maceration of ginger root and the addition of warm and aromatic lemon oil. The flavour is rich and intensely spiced with ginger and a golden syrup-like thickness. The bite of ginger and tartness of the lemon make this a drink which hits the palate with a bang but soon mellows and becomes extremely satisfying.
A richly smoky release from Ron Abuelo over in Panama, as you may have guessed Two Oaks has been matured in two different types of oak cask. Aged for over a decade, initially the rum was rested in bourbon barrels before it was transferred to heavily-charred virgin American oak for a finishing period. Lots of creamy sweetness in there from the initial maturation alongside those char notes.as awarded a Gold at the 2009 Ministry of Rum Tasting Competition.
