Doorly’s 5yo is a blend of rich pot still and elegant column distilled rums which are aged for at least 5 years in ex-American whiskey casks. Recognisable from the Blue Hyacinth Macaw on its bottle, Doorly’s fine Old Barbados Rum is an extra special creation. Doorly’s XO is a sweet concoction of heady aromas and enticing flavours including notes of Oloroso Sherry thanks to the casks the spirit is matured in. Oak spices are prevalent in the flavour and support the sweet vanilla and marzipan notes which deliver a tart spiciness which is enjoyable again and again. A lingering and enjoyable smokiness on the palate is again thanks to the oak maturation process.
Gosling Black Seal 151 is a full-flavoured dark rum that has the additional benefit of oak barrels which have been used to age bourbon. It stands out against other rums of the region because of its caramelised flavour and the bourbon notes that the oak casks offer. One of the top navy rums around, Lamb’s is a well-known brand with a recognisable flavour. 18 rums are brought together and are distilled in pot stills to deliver maximum flavour. A rich copper hue. The aroma which rises from the class is full of rich brown sugar, dark tobacco, virgin sugar cane molasses, baking spices and wiffs of chocolate. On the nose hints of spicy cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla as well as the Christmas-like scents of dark fruitcake and fresh broken nut shells.
Taste of rich coffee and spicy tobacco, bittersweet cocoa and yummy fruitcake, dark caramel, and nice baking spices all mixed together with the flavor of walnuts. The oak flavor does not dominate. It complements to the overall flavor.

Named after Thailand’s Mekhong River, Mekhong rum was the first ever locally produced brown spirit in the whole of Thailand and has now become a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike. Released in the UK in 2014, the Mount Gay Black Barrel rum is made from single column and double pot distilled rum, though using a higher proportion of double pot distillates than their other expressions. It is also finished in heavily charred bourbon barrels before being bottled.
Your ancestors may even have heard of this one, Mount Gay is one of the world’s oldest rums, dating back to the 18th century. Pure Barbadian spring water and sugar cane are blended to create the trademark flavour, the recipe still the same as when first created.
